Trimester information
 

The College of Education will be implementing a trimester system, beginning Spring 2008.
Please note that these dates apply to College of Education courses ONLY. 

Trimester Schedule Fall 2008—Summer 2009

The College of Education courses are offered on a trimester schedule, which divides the year into three equal academic time periods: Fall, Spring, and Summer.


Fall 2008 trimester:         September 8—December 20
Spring 2009 trimester:     January 12—April 25
Summer 2009 trimester   May 11 - August 21

What are the advantages of a trimester schedule?
- Advising available from faculty year round
- More flexibility in planning course schedules
- Ability to complete programs more quickly
Are there any disadvantages?
Possible impact on financial aid distribution

TEACH GRANT INFORMATION

Have you heard about the new federal grant program for future teachers? If you are interested or in one of these UAA degree programs, you may be eligible to apply!

BA in Biological Sciences, Languages, Mathematics
BS in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geological Sciences, Mathematics, Natural Sciences
MAT in Science, Mathematics, World Languages, English for Speakers of Other Languages
Graduate Certificate in ESOL or Special Education

Welcome to the College of Education at UAA! Founded as a stand-alone “college” in 2002, the College of Education is in its sixth year. In 2005, COE sought, and received national accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). (read more...)

We are in the Professional Studies Building- formerly known as Building K- adjoining the Wendy Williams Auditorium. Our offices are on the 2nd floor. There is a limited amount of metered parking on the north side of the building.
